When it comes to her diet, Heidi Klum is giving her fans some food for thought.
The model and TV personality took to her Instagram stories Tuesday to push back against a recent claim alleging she only consumes 900 calories a day. The rumor began circulating after Klum participated in an Instagram Q&A session in which she reportedly shared with fans what she eats for breakfast and later weighed herself on a scale.
"I just got home, and some friends are sending me these articles that have been written that I only take in 900 calories," Klum said in a video. "I want to say, I don't think I've ever had to count my calories in my life, and don't believe everything that you read."
The "AGT" judge went on to speculate that the false claim about her diet most likely arose after her Q&A session was misconstrued.
"Someone asked me how much I weigh, and I got on the scale and showed how much I weighed," Klum said. "And I don't know, people just put things together and just write a bunch of crap, and it's really sad because there is no real journalism anymore.
"People just make up stories. One person writes it, and then everyone jumps on it. And it’s really sad because people read that, and they think that and possibly follow that."
Klum isn’t the only celebrity who's attracted scrutiny for their diet practices. Earlier this year, actress Gwyneth Paltrow sparked social media backlash after revealing her practice of intermittent fasting with a low-calorie diet that features bone broth lunches.
